Welcome to Primrose Border Terriers!

I have been involved in the sport of dogs for 30+ years and have titled my dogs in obedience, Canine Good Citizen advanced and urban, tracking, hunt tests, trick dog and conformation.  Starting out with German Shorthaired Pointers in the mid-80's, I got my first Border in 1997 and have been hooked ever since!

Our main focus is in the show ring but we work towards a Canine Good Citizen title on all of our dogs and strive for versatility in our dogs.  A Border Terrier should be able to hunt game all day, then lie by your feet at night.  All of our dogs enjoy our house as their home and have many acres to run and play in.  If you are considering adding a Border Terrier to your family, PLEASE do your homework and research Border Terriers before making a decision.  There is a lot to consider although Borders are everything you might want in a dog, they are terriers after all!!

A note about Health Clearances:  although Border Terriers are a relatively "healthy" breed, the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) lists five breed requirements as a minimum for health clearances:  CAER evaluation (eyes), patellar luxation, hip dysplasia, SLEM and cardiac evaluation.  All Primrose Border Terriers are listed in the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals database as health clearances are completed.  This website is:  http://www.offa.org.  If you are learning about Border Terriers, this database as well as the CHIC database are both good places to research any health issues associated with Border Terriers.  The CHIC database is:  http://www.caninehealthinfo.org.
